Family, Some Of My Family, & Hodgy Humor IV

Friday, October 30th, 2009

5:30 in the am and there is nothing that keeps me awake more than having one of our cats lick himself while sitting right beside my head.  When it’s this early in the morning everything is quite.  You know your house.  You know the sounds it makes.  So when your cat decides to move into the recroom and continue on with his innocent yet disgusting licking, you can still hear it, clear as day.  So, it’s early, I’m up and getting a fresh Cup ‘o’ Joe in my system.  I thought I would post a few family portraits we have done recently.  We love creating family portraits and it amazes me how long some families go without having an updated portrait.  Think of a family portrait as an investment in you and your family.  When you have a large wall portrait hanging in your house of your family, that is art.  Who would disagree with me on this?   Joce and I love the expressions on our clients faces when they come to pick up their Wall Portraits, you can tell that they know, at the moment they see it finished, that they made the right decision to invest in their family.

Now the person holding the camera laughing his butt off is my Bro-In-Law Mike (above).   2 weeks ago we portaged into our “secret” lake for some Bass & Pike fishing.  Some stupid beaver decided to damn up part of the “river” we normally paddle through so we had to carry our gear and canoe most of the way.  Lifting and pulling heavy objects through mud tends to wear you down.  You don’t think clearly, you try stupid things…..like seeing  just how stuck you can get in some Canadian Quicksand.  Now to my defense, this stuff was thick, but if you broke through, it swallowed your foot.  We only caught one fish. (of course, I was the one that caught it)

Sunday Sudbury Family Portrait

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

Sunday we had the annual Mark & Michelle Family Portrait.  Over the years I have always driven past this location in New Sudbury and Sunday I decided that we would use it for this portrait.  It had lots of leaves, trees, some shade and it was central for all of us.  If you recall Sunday was warmer (7 degrees) but it was still cool outside.  Due to the time of day we photographed this portrait I decided to use one of my monolights and umbrella’s for some fill flash.  That, and the fact that I left all of my reflectors in Elmira (Thanks Tina for sending them to me), the monolight was looking pretty good.

Pick a colour, any colour.

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

Fern just finished his updated business portrait for his Sudbury Real Estate site www.ferncormier.ca  Consulting beforehand we knew he was wearing a blue shirt and jacket, so out came one of our blue backgrounds.  We always like to match up the background color with the clothing.  This makes for a well rounded studio business portrait.  Although, we can also change the background and clothing color to anything we pretty well please as you can see below.   Not only did Fern get a great Portrait, he also discovered that Earth tones look good on him as well.

Children Gallery Sidebar

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

HEY PARENTS!

They grow up fast and you want to remember every little thing about them.

We take the time to capture the “personality” of your child.

In the studio or playing outside it’s your childs (and yours too) choice. No stiff poses and no rules to follow, let’s let your kid just have some plain ol fun.

We can also create a “Custom Wall Panel” from your session.

Sometimes it’s hard to pick your favorites when there are sooooo many good one’s to choose from.

CLICK HERE TO VIEW OUR RECENT FAMILY SESSIONS

Jocelyne and I can coordinate a relaxing time with you and your family, either in studio or at a location of your choice. We promise you will have fun, your family will have fun, and the images we create will  be something you can cherish for a lifetime.  Investing in a family portrait is an investment in your family, and one that should be carefully planned, coordinated and discussed with all members that are to be photographed.

A family portrait can mean more to the people involved than you probably realize.  It might not be today, tomorrow, or even next week, but when they get older,  looking back at that family portrait will bring back all the memories they had at that time of their life, and yours too.

A beautiful family portrait is one that can be displayed in your home to be looked at every day.  One that is a discussion starter when you have company over, and one that brings back the feelings of closeness, unity, and family enjoyment.

Check out Portrait Clothing Tips so you will look your best  for your family session.
