Here are a few images from Tracy & Jeffs wedding. The clouds loomed over for most of the day but the rain held off for our session and for their outdoor ceremony which took place at the Timberwolf Golf course.

Just received this email from the Mother of the Groom from our Geraldton Wedding we photographed last weekend.

“Hey there Joce & James,

Love the blog. Sorry about the menthol toothpaste. It is quite a funny story though (Hehe!). YES it did rain cats & dogs but you managed to help make it a wedding to remember. Thanks guys for rolling with the punches and keeping up with the positive waves. We had no choice but to follow along with you. Derek, Julz and their wedding party loved their photo session so much, they would have kept on posing for you all day and on through the night.

A Geraldton Wedding To Remember

We just got back from documenting Julie & Derek’s wedding in Geraldton Ontario. Where is Geraldton you ask? Well it’s about 9 hours North of Sudbury past Hearst Ontario that’s where. Like all my wedding days I start it off with a normal enough routine. I wake up, have a coffee, relax a bit and watch the weather network. This past Saturday I decided to do something different. Normally I have my coffee first THEN I brush my teeth but Saturday I decided to brush my teeth first so I feel fresh and minty. Now I know why I don’t do this. After brushing for a few seconds I noticed that my toothpaste had a very menthol taste to it, and it was very very “Cinnamon” like taste. Very cinnamon. A few seconds more I notice that it’s a little hot and spicy as well. As I am walking around the hotel room I am thinking, “I don’t remember my colgate tasting like this”. After about 1 minute my mouth is burning so hot I just can’t take it anymore and I rush into the bathroom to see what I have just put in my mouth. Well, turns out my “Icy Hot” Muscle Rub cream looks just like a toothpaste tube from the back. I am now AWAKE.

Now that I started the morning off right, I check the weather to confirm the very hot and sunny day they forcasted…………yesterday. Still says sunny on the WN channel, but of course, they have mislead me again, as it starts to downpour, and I don’t’ mean any downpour I mean let’s get the rods out and start fishing in the parking lot downpour. Dang (well I didn’t use that terminology). We head out to the resort wear the guys are staying and it’s still raining walley and pike. We wait about 45 minutes and catch a quick break in the sky to get some cool shots of the guys and about 1 hr after that the skies opened up and we had the most gorgeous day for a wedding. When we were just finishing up the last of the photos, the clouds came in, the thunder rolled and the rain started just as I was snapping off the last shot of the rings. Talk about perfect timing. Below is one image we captured taking advantage of the dark clouds in the background.

Jocelyne and myself would like to personally thank the Poulin and Wilkins family along with all your relatives, friends and bridal party. EVERYONE was in such great spirits, full of smiles and very helpful and accommodating. THIS, in my opinion makes a wonderful event SPECTACULAR! Gaetan thank you very much for offering up your property for some of the photos it is very much appreciated. Julie & Derek, thanks again for a great day, for a wedding like that, we would have traveled across the globe to do it all over again.

What a fabulous day it was today. Not only did we get to document another amazing Sudbury Wedding, but we also got the chance to hang out with some great friends at the same time. I have known Mark since high school, we fished together, hung out at the clubs (way back in the day) and we pretty well hang around the same crowd. Today he married his beautiful wife Sheri at her parents property on Long Lake. Well, it’s no hidden secret that Mark like’s to fish, any time, anywhere, any chance he can get. Even today I played a little joke on him telling him I won a free trip to Alwaki Lake lodge for 3 people all inclusive fishing trip, but we had to leave tomorrow (knowing full well he had an after wedding brunch at his in-laws). Well you could see the wheels turning in his head, I knew what he was thinking, the same thing I would have tried to figure out. “how can I get out of brunch.” We had a good laugh about it.

After visiting Sheri’s place in the morning we quickly learned that there were LOADS of opportunities for wedding photos. She had it all, sheds, fields, wooden bridges, huge tree’s you name it, this property had it. So why rush back into the city when we had our little paradise here? Bridge? If there is a bridge, then there must be a creek? If there is a creek, is there fish? LOL. Anyways, to make a long blog short, we all thought it would be funny to have an image of Mark fishing on his wedding day. So we put a Hodgy Humor spin on it and came up with this. I love it when we have loads of time to get creative.

Thanks again everyone for a truly wonderful wedding. Family, bridal party, heck even the weather was perfect. We had a blast as usual.

Sometimes it’s the experience of the wedding photographers.

I don’t mean the “experience” that the photographer has capturing images, I mean the experience that the photographers create on the wedding day for the bride & groom. We just received this email from our wedding couple from 2 weekends ago.

We absolutely LOVE the photos and the “teaser pod” is so aptly named. Everyone I showed them to got to the last picture and said “awww, I want to see more.” I can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures because the 25 that we got last night are absolutely amazing. I can’t believe that the pictures of me don’t show just how nervous I was. You guys made everything so easy for me and relieved a lot of my anxiety and everyone in the bridal party thought the two of you “made the day, and without them it could have been a really long day.” I’ve already warned Aaron that we will see a lot of you through the years to come.

down memory lane that is. Recently we had one of my previous brides come in and order more images from their wedding. I photographed Jason & Sylvie Tripp back in 2005 where we did all the formal images before the ceremony. Back then the Bell Mansion was a beautiful place to photograph weddings and they were pretty well booked every weekend. I remember there being 6 photographers with wedding parties on the grounds photographing and we would all rotate around mansion picking our spots. I went through the whole wedding again and remembered the day all over. I thought I would snag a few images and post them here to share with you. Enjoy.

An amazing Sudbury Wedding

Well we just got back from documenting Michelle & Aaron’s wedding which was held right here in Sudbury. I used to work with Aaron way back when I was at Romes and working in the photolab and just by chance I went to school with Michelle’s sister Marlene. This was an amazing day. The weather was warm with a slight breeze to cool things off, the bridal party were kick*ss and all smiles, and it was like a high school reunion for me as a lot of their friends at the wedding were people I went to school with or worked with. All in all a great day with a fabulous couple. Now Michelle was a bit nervous today but after the knot was tied it was an immediate 180 as Aaron had the perma grin before and now they both (I assume) are still wearing them. Thanks again you too and to all your family and bridal party. It was a great way to kick off the beginning of our wedding season and your relaxed easy going manner made the day a blast…………..not to mention we created some outstanding images. Looking forward to sharing the rest with you both.

Some photographers can’t handle travel stress.

Especially when you have been traveling for over 20 hrs straight, sort of like a trains, planes, and automobiles type scenario. I am home safe and sound now, arriving at 3:37 am, tired, sore (my nose is now sore from the window) and dissapointed that we had to miss Saskatoon. I think the highlight of my trip though was the flight home last night with Rob sitting beside me crying. He was really tired and cranky, and I think his lack of sleep was getting to him. He cried the whole flight…… and not just a simple scream, but the ear peircing, needles in the eyeballs scream. Don’t beleive me? Well I videotaped a small snippet for you all, this was at about 2:30 am, and even with my earbuds on with the volume on the highest setting, Rob the screaming banshee still got through. He did this the WHOLE FLIGHT!

Weddings, Blogs & Emails. Somebody Loves Us.

I love getting emails from my friends/clients (family, not so much….just kidding folks) no matter how big or small they may be. Even just a few sentences can make my day. Like this quick email I got from my buddy Matt.

“This picture melted my wife’s heart and actually made her cry. You guys rock.”

This quick grab was taken at one of our wonderful weddings this past summer. I am constantly looking around me when I am photographing as there is always something that can enhance the story. I captured little Taylor here while we were hanging in the driveway just after saying goodbye to our wonderful couple and Matt and Taylor come walking up to us.

Matt and I have been friends for a long time and we even photographed his wedding. Their image is still in our wedding gallery.

Matt and I are always on each others blog checking out what is new in our unrelated industry and even though we are in two different fields, we both have a passion for our blogs. Fall Engagement In The Park

Joce and I photographed Melanie & Mike’s engagement session this past Friday in Bell Park. Luckily for us the leaves were still on the trees (If you look now, the fall leaves have almost finished falling). We basically had the whole park to ourselves which was nice. Hat’s off to Mike for choosing the clothing as the color matched perfectly with the surroundings and it added a little more color to the portraits. It really does make a difference on what you wear in your portraits. You both made our job very very easy. Thanks again, we look forward to your wedding in June.

Sudbury Has The Best Weddings

Here are just a “few” images we created to tell the story of Jennifer & Matt’s wedding day. Like all our other weddings we had a blast, the guys were funny, the girls were gorgeous and the bride and groom were game. It it did rain a bit that day but it didn’t stop our couple from married outdoors, and it really didn’t stop them from tromping around the Sudz with Joce and I. Matt & Jen, even though we said it before, thanks again for a truly remarkable wedding day.
