Monday, December 20th, 2010With such an overwhelming response from this years Dog Day how could we not make this event an annual thing? So Dog Day is going to be January 29th, 2011, MARK YOUR CALENDARS! Last year we raised $1000 and 22 bags of dogfood (and 1 bag of cat food) for the Sudbury SPCA and we want to blow that out of the water. We will be posting more information on the whole event (when to sign up, packages, themes etc) soon so stay tuned to the hodgeblog.

A Teddy Bear Portrait
Friday, November 26th, 2010Well he’s not really a Teddy bear, but he sure was fluffy like one. We just finished photographing Teddy’s SPCA portrait not 10 minutes ago here at the studio. April adopted Teddy 3 weeks ago from the Sudbury SPCA (where Teddy has been vacationing for the past couple of days). Even though Teddy is already 5 years April couldn’t resist those big bright eyes and that charming smile. Thanks April for opening your heart and home to Teddy and thanks again for taking advantage of our Adopt A Pet Promotion.

Felix The Kitten
Wednesday, October 13th, 2010Last week Sylvie brought in her kitten “Felix” to be photographed as part of our Adopt-A-Pet Program we have with the Local SPCA. Kittens are a lot harder to photograph than dogs (just read the post about our two cats here) but if you let them roam around for awhile and get their bearings you can get them to settle down enough to grab a few great images. Thanks again Sylvie for taking advantage of the program, it’s just another way Joce and I get to say “thank you” to those who open their hearts and homes to unwanted pets.

adoptapet
Monday, February 22nd, 2010THANK YOU FOR ADOPTING YOUR PET.
Click here CHECK OUT ARE RECENT ADOPT A PET BLOG POSTS
As noted on the 4×6 card you received we would like to show our support and appreciation of your new adoption.
Take the time and book your appointment, the photo session will only take 15 minutes and you will have the perfect picture to show off to your family and friends.
We should tell you that this will not be your typical “Studio Pet Portrait”. Nope, we are planning to create the best image of your pet showing his or her personality. Sometimes we will get it in the first few frames, sometimes we may have to take 20, whatever it takes. We will be focusing on your pet and not so much as the backgrounds, props and colors.

“Hi James & Jocelyne, I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you from both Abby and I. I wasn’t to sure how things were going to go today but it was fantastic…. You both were great with Abby and it showed. She obviously felt right at home, so much so that she thought your sofa was for her
. Thanks for being so good with Abby and so kind towards us. Lee”

Here is a few things you should know about our Signature Pet Portraits

- Images will be of the pet (or pet’ s) alone.
- Please give us 48 hours notice of any cancellation so that we can rebook your spot

Dog Day – The Results Are In.
Wednesday, January 20th, 2010We we are all tallied up, the results are in, and the studio is cleaned.
Dog Day (In our opinion) was a HUGE success. First we would like to thank all the people who signed up for dog day to support the local SPCA. We would also like to thank our “Dog Whisperer” Darla Laframboise for taking the time to spend the day with us at our studio to help out. We had 26 dogs and not one accident woohooo. In total we raised $1000 and 22 bags of dogfood (and 1 bag of cat food) for the Sudbury SPCA. We would also like to thank those who took advantage of the Canvas Wall Portrait, we can’t wait to show you your finished art piece.
Joce and I had a total blast with this promotion and we look forward to photographing more furry friends in the future. You will notice a common “theme” to our dog portraits and this is one that we wanted to instill in our clients perception right from the beginning. We focused on the dog’s personality and characteristics that are unique to the dog. All images were black and white on a highkey background with a bit of an artistic processing to the finished image. This is how we want to portray our Pet Portraits at Hodgins Photography…….this will be our “signature style” if you can call it that.
Over the next few weeks I will posting each dog from the Dog Day sessions so that you can all get a glimps of the Dog Day attendees. Again, Joce and I would like thank EVERYONE who participated and for those that didn’t but still donated.
P.S Joce and I have decided that we will offer anyone who adopts a Cat, Dog, Puppy, Kitten or any other animal from the Sudbury SPCA a FREE portrait session with print from our studio. This will be an ongoing thing for as long as we can.

Here we are today dropping off the $ and the dogfood
