Evening Portrait Of Mom & Daughter

Tuesday, July 5th, 2011

We just finished photographing the ever happy Miss Emily where we took her downtown to do some urban grunge images in her Hip-Hop outfits.  We found graffiti walls, back alleys, rusted stairs and old fire escapes.  Emily was a bit shy at first and we had to reassure her that we had photographed downtown before,  but all doubts were gone when gave her a few sneak peaks on the back of the camera.    After a quick pit-stop at Dairy Queen (yes, this was my idea. I AM going back to Jiu Jitsu tomorrow so I might as well get one last craving in) we headed to one of our favorite spots for photographing in tall grass.  Since Mom was dressed in the same colors as Emily’s Street clothes we decided to through her in scene for a few images.  By this time Emily was a professional, posing exactly the way we guided her.   The below image is the very last frame from the session, just as the suns was saying goodbye.  I thought I would post it for this blog post but  I will post more from Emily’s Urban session soon.  Emily, Nyree, thanks for a great evening, we had a great time hanging out with the both of you, and it was very rewarding watching Emily’s enthusiasm grow as the session progressed.

Even the ducks say it’s enough rain.

Thursday, June 23rd, 2011

You know we have had too much rain when the ducks feel free to take a bath any where in your neighbourhood.  I grabbed this a few minutes ago just outside our house.

Inspired by my Xbox

Wednesday, June 22nd, 2011

Here is another image that I photographed for Larry Berrio.  I took inspiration from my Xbox game Medal Of Honor as the cover had this kickass image on the front.  I couldn’t figure out how to tell Larry how it would look so I just showed the xbox game.  He wanted something a bit different, darker (in tones) with some impact lighting.  I photographed him in my studio on a grey background and played around in photoshop to get this.

I just couldn’t resist myself. :)   There is something about a women in a white dress that sparks my wedding photography radar, even when I am visiting Timmins Ontario.   Check out the video.  A BIG thanks to Jacinthe & Denis.  Congratulations to you both.

Sudbury Engagement Reshoot

Wednesday, May 11th, 2011

Well it wasn’t exactly a reshoot like you would think.  I didn’t screw up the first shoot or anything, I just had to “recreate” a shoot for my www.photographyschoolhouse.com webinar on the 5 Essential Engagement poses.  Kyle & Jasmine were kind enough to take time out of their lives and help me out with this Live Webinar and be my engaged couple again.  We already photographed their engagement a few months ago and were already feeling comfortable in front of my camera.    Thanks again you two for helping me out with this, I look foward to the next time I get to create images for you. :) ……the wedding. :)

Trying to achieve that artsy marternity.

Tuesday, May 10th, 2011

Since I wasn’t able to blog yesterday I thought I would add two more images from our last maternity session.  The goal for these images was to have a more “artsy”, “moody” feel to them and still keep them classy.  Images like these can be displayed as large wall canvas wall portraits if the client wanted to.  Keeping the images B&W also draws the viewers attention to the subject and not the colored fabric being used.

My images in the finished product.

Monday, May 2nd, 2011

Working with Dave Cooper at www.ttccreative.com today I asked about the images I created in Sioux Lookout for a book that was being created of the new Court House.  Unfortunately their client didn’t  go ahead with the book and thus my images were not used.  This did make me think about finding how and where my images were being used via the TTC company as I have done many shoots for them in the past few years.

Here are a few companies that TTC Creative has done the Branding and Promotional Material for where some of my images have been used.

Real Estate Photography = $

Friday, April 29th, 2011

More Sudbury Real Estate Agents are clueing into the benefits of having a professional photographer capture the images for their listings.  How many of you didn’t consider a home because of the online listings photos looked bad?  Sounds dumb right?  But it’s true.  When we were looking at houses most of the time we couldn’t get the feel of a house because you really couldn’t tell what it looked like in the photos.  The rooms looked small, the kitchen was tight etc…    Having great photos to accompany a listing will give the viewers more “insight” into the home they are considering.  Better photos = more viewers = more showings = faster sale = happier clients = more clients.

Larry Berrio Is Getting A New Look.

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

Phew!!! We just finished shooting our first session with Famed Country Music Singer Larry Berrio.  Larry is doing it all with a new Website, image portfolio and and in the future a new CD to keep the music rolling.   We just spent close to 4 hours (most of that time was us goofin around) in the studio today creating the Story Board Images for Devin Kinsella of Shift 4 Solutions who will creating Larry’s new website.  I can’t post to many images as the website and photography will have a release date, but I did manage to get this image through the cracks so I can at least give you all a sneak peak.  There are many more images  with a wackload of different looks, so stay tuned!  Thanks again Larry, I had a blast today and as you can tell, time just flew by.

You can see more photos of Larry on his Facebook Fan Page
