Thank you to everyone again who participated. We raised over $850 for the Sudbury SPCA along with 2 boxes of milkbones, 2 bags of cat litter, 2 bags of cat food and 23 bags of dog food woot woot!! Here is a quick behind the scenes video for you to checkout.

Blue The Rescued Pup

We just finished photographing “Blue” a three month PUP that was adopted from the Sudbury SPCA by Linda Terris. Like with all animals adopted by the SPCA we will photograph them for FREE as our way of saying thanks for opening your home to these wonderful animals. Blue was HAPPY! Play Play Play, but she soon settled down and we captured some great images of her. We look forward to photographing more sessions from our Adopt A Pet Program

Dog Day – The Results Are In.

We we are all tallied up, the results are in, and the studio is cleaned. Dog Day (In our opinion) was a HUGE success. First we would like to thank all the people who signed up for dog day to support the local SPCA. We would also like to thank our “Dog Whisperer” Darla Laframboise for taking the time to spend the day with us at our studio to help out. We had 26 dogs and not one accident woohooo. In total we raised $1000 and 22 bags of dogfood (and 1 bag of cat food) for the Sudbury SPCA. We would also like to thank those who took advantage of the Canvas Wall Portrait, we can’t wait to show you your finished art piece.

Joce and I had a total blast with this promotion and we look forward to photographing more furry friends in the future. You will notice a common “theme” to our dog portraits and this is one that we wanted to instill in our clients perception right from the beginning. We focused on the dog’s personality and characteristics that are unique to the dog. All images were black and white on a highkey background with a bit of an artistic processing to the finished image. This is how we want to portray our Pet Portraits at Hodgins Photography…….this will be our “signature style” if you can call it that.

Over the next few weeks I will posting each dog from the Dog Day sessions so that you can all get a glimps of the Dog Day attendees. Again, Joce and I would like thank EVERYONE who participated and for those that didn’t but still donated.

P.S Joce and I have decided that we will offer anyone who adopts a Cat, Dog, Puppy, Kitten or any other animal from the Sudbury SPCA a FREE portrait session with print from our studio. This will be an ongoing thing for as long as we can.

Barking Up The Right Tree!

Today we had Abby come visit the studio for a quick Dog Day Session (more info soon to come, so stay tuned to the blog) and we have to admit she was a gem. Once she was finished sniffing every little thing in the studio she was all primed for the photoshoot. Bribing her with dog treats and belly rubs quickly had her sitting pretty, rolling over, and shakin the paw. I’m not sure who has more fun with these types of sessions, me or the dog.

As soon as we got home I received this wonderful email from Abby’s Owner

“Hi James & Jocelyne, I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you from both Abby and I. I wasn’t to sure how things were going to go today but it was fantastic…. You both were great with Abby and it showed. She obviously felt right at home, so much so that she thought your sofa was for her . Thanks for being so good with Abby and so kind towards us. Lee”

Thanks again Lee for taking the time to bring Abby in. She was a pure joy.
