Well we recently finished photographing our Fathers Favorites Event for fathers day. We would like to thank all the moms out their that lied to the dads to bring their kids out to be photographed (there was some good lies too, I will post them after fathers day haha). Unfortunately I cannot post any of the photos just yet as that would ruin the surprise for the dads who’s kids we photographed, but I can show you the simple setup we used. I photographed everything in B&W (in camera) as that was how we promoted the final product. This brings all your attention to the childs face and removes some of the distracting elements that might be in the background. We photographed in open shade, a large reflector and a shoot through reflector to minimize shadows and smooth out the lighting. You REALLY do not get much better than this as demonstrated by my beautiful wife Jocelyne.
Sitting in the Calgary airport waiting to catch our flight to Saskatoon for our workshop. It was an eventfull day (usually is when Abbas is driving…………FOCUS!). Learned that Starbucks employees don’t speak English, only the Starbucks language and that to order a coffee flavoured coffee is…………………….rude. Oh well. Here are some group shots for you and another video of the window escapade.
I just received email confirmation that my print “Red Hot Drill Bits’ took 3rd place in the Scientific/Industrial Category at WPPI. I also had two other images “The Big Catch” & “This is what happens To Crappy Print Judges” receive an Accolade Of Excellence. What a great way to end an overall wonderful experience at this years WPPI Convention in Vegas.
It could be worth huge profits and huge growth in your photography business.
Come out and listen to the two founders of one of the most respected online forums, NoBs Photo Success and who are also two of the most successful respected wedding and portrait photographers in Canada.
James Hodgins and Robert Provencher will tear down the house and reveal the naked uncensored truth to running a successful photography studio.
Well I just got back from WPPI Vegas and it was a blast. We networked, we played, and we got inspired. I will have more on Vegas on Monday when I work the images and get the stories straight as some of them I can’t remember hahaha. I did however want to get right back into my Sudbury Pinup Perfection so I can hone my skills further. The below image was shot last week, but the background was inspired from a walk in the malls in Vegas. We checkout some pretty cool stores that had even more interesting signage. Stay tuned for more Sudbury Pinup Perfection.
That’s right, you heard it here first. We are officially announcing our Sudbury Pin-Up Perfection Day Saturday March 27th at our studio. I will post all the juicy details about this spectacular event when I get back from WPPI Vegas next week. Until then, start thinking of your Pin-Up Perfection scenario and dig deep into your wardrobe for those forgotten outfits.
Just a heads up. There will only be 15 sessions available and it will be first come first serve. We have already had numerous emails and calls to book our sessions, but to be fair we asked them to wait until our Pin-up Day. So, with that said I would call and book your appointment as soon as I announce the Sudbury Pin-Up Perfection Day Details.
We will be hosting our first “Sudbury Pinup Perfection” Day this month. More details to follow so stay tuned on this blog (or better yet SUBSCRIBE to the blog) to be notified on all the sassy details.
My Niece Piper came into the studio today while Mom, Dad & Brother were out to play. Like typical Piper style she gave me a whopping whole 10 minutes to photograph her before she had enough. Luckily with this one, you just can’t go wrong and yes I am being biased. The yellow hat and sweater were knitted by Piper’s Great Grandma so of course I had to photograph her in that. Then it was out with the Piper Pickle Purple background (I think that is what I am going to call it now) which I was aloud to photograph her for a whole 6.23 minutes. Oh my little sweetheart, Uncle Jamie is going to wear you down over the next few years.
Don’t forget we are giving away FREE 50 Gift CARDS! 104 of them to be exact.

Today we had the beautiful Carly in our studio today for her 8 month maternity session. From highkey to lowkey we covered it all and we came away with some outstanding images. She was so graceful in front of the camera, a true natural. Thanks again Carly and Jeff for coming into our studio and allowing us to create these memorable images for you. We look forward to photographing your new addition to the family.
