Today I had the great privilege of photographing Louis L’Allier PhD Associate Professor, Classical Studios at Laurentian University. Louis needed a photograph of himself to grace the next cover of www.avoslivres.ca/magazine. He also wanted something for himself to use as his own bio pic on the back of his published books and works. Louis picked a great room attached to the L.U’s Library that provided some great ambient light along with some warm incandescent backlight. I opted to mix the ambient with some Off Camera Flash to create an image where Louis would “pop” out of the frame, but still have the background compliment the rest of the image without being distracted. I’m not sure which image the magazine will use for their cover, but the below image is one that Louis and Myself liked for his own use. The book in the portrait is a very old (hundreds of years) Greek Book that is part of the Greek History Louis Loves and teaches.

Well there are no roses around here now, not even snow LOL. We slowed down this week so that we can visit some friends and family and I have my new point & shoot camera with me at all times now. Lumix GF2. It’s great to be able to grab a few scenery shots just for my own amusement. Here is one from yesterday of Duschenay Falls North Bay.

When the Kolar Family came in to view their images from their session earlier this week, we decided to photography Baby Mila on High Key White to show off her new hat. We could only get her hand out of her mouth for maybe a split second before she shoved it right back in there. Well, why fight it? If that is what she likes, then that is what we are going to capture. Personally, I prefer the hand in mouth look myself.
(I’m more known for foot in mouth myself).

Matt, Reem & Shannon come to Sudbury for the Holidays and not 24 hours in the Sudz they headed over to our studio to create some new images to take back home. I don’t think I have ever seen our studio this cluttered with clothes hahaha. We spent a few hours photographing each of them individually and then we worked our way into a bunch of group photos. I will start this blog series with these 3 images and later over the holidays I will post more (they tend to get more odd as time went by:) ) It was so much fun with loads of energy flowing through the shooting room (not to mention some kick butt tunes… Thanks Reem I am downloading from Itunes as I type). Stay tuned for more images of the Matt Pack.
