Here is an image from one of my industrial shoots.  Been doing a lot of those lately, and unfortunately I can’t post them all right away as the images need to go through the proper channels before being presented on my sites.  Hence the lack of blog posts in the past few months.   Still busy though.

It’s fun shooting above ground one hr and then below ground the next.  Two totally different environments and two totally different skills and techniques required.

A few weeks ago I took a trip up North to Detour Lake to photograph aerial photos (from a helicopter)  of the Detour Lake Gold Project.   I LOVE photographing from a helicopter (compared to an airplane) as there is more chances for great images.  Being able to hover, climb and dive in seconds makes it easy to move around the location at different altitudes to frame the shot.  Here are a few images that range from a few hundred feet to over 4oooft above the site.

Well her name wasn’t really “Buffy” and she didn’t really slay the diamonds, but she did get them polished using this buffer so that they would look pretty on any woman’s finger.

It was an experience for sure the last time I was underground and got to take a first hand look at a large mineral vein cutting through the rockface.    Not having much experience in the geology world this was a first for me, and I must say it was also a bit of challenge to do this scene justice, but in the end I think it worked out.

Ever been underground? It’s a whole different world down there, very dark, very muddy, and your camera equipment sure takes a mud kicking. Me? I love it. I don’t mind getting dirty, I like creating images in as many different environments as I can possibly shoot in.  You can view more at www.mudsweatandgears.net
