Ok, maybe it can be all fish and games. Since I had my good friend Jose Paulo of Images by Paulo Photographer here for a few days, I figured it was time to take the day off and do some fishing (since I haven’t done this in a long long time). We “hooked” up with my friend Aaron (another www.northernontariofishingforum.com member) who’s wedding we photographed last summer, and headed out to the big waters of Lake Huron. It didn’t take us long to hook into some great Rainbows and we brought back our catch to enjoy on the BBQ. Below are some quick vids and pics of todays festivities.

Me with my TWO catches. HAHA!!!

Well the results are back and my image “Waiting for a family” took first place in “Press” Category at the Professional Photographers Of Canada Print Competition in Banff. It was also entered into the Loan Collection but most of all, (and something that is a first for me) it was awarded the score of “Excellence” which is the highest score you can receive from PPOC.
On another note. I think my arm hair is starting to grow abnormally.
More Sudbury Real Estate Agents are clueing into the benefits of having a professional photographer capture the images for their listings. How many of you didn’t consider a home because of the online listings photos looked bad? Sounds dumb right? But it’s true. When we were looking at houses most of the time we couldn’t get the feel of a house because you really couldn’t tell what it looked like in the photos. The rooms looked small, the kitchen was tight etc… Having great photos to accompany a listing will give the viewers more “insight” into the home they are considering. Better photos = more viewers = more showings = faster sale = happier clients = more clients.
Phew!!! We just finished shooting our first session with Famed Country Music Singer Larry Berrio. Larry is doing it all with a new Website, image portfolio and and in the future a new CD to keep the music rolling. We just spent close to 4 hours (most of that time was us goofin around) in the studio today creating the Story Board Images for Devin Kinsella of Shift 4 Solutions who will creating Larry’s new website. I can’t post to many images as the website and photography will have a release date, but I did manage to get this image through the cracks so I can at least give you all a sneak peak. There are many more images with a wackload of different looks, so stay tuned! Thanks again Larry, I had a blast today and as you can tell, time just flew by.
It seems I am photographing more and more underground these days, and I’m not complaining at all. I love it. I love everything about it. Maybe it’s because in high-school I took homec and typing instead shop (although typing and cooking did get me some good gigs and some great dates hahahaha) and combining my love of photography with heavy machinery is something that is always exciting to me. I look forward to exploring more underground communities in the next year in which I call the “Age Of The Commercial Gigs” with James Hodgins Photography.
Well my prints finally arrived back from the WPPI (Wedding Portrait Photographers International) where I scored an Accolade Of Excellence on one of my wedding images and another image took 3rd place for Photojournalism category. This is the 3rd time that I have placed 3rd place with WPPI. Why the heck can’t I at least get second? Oh well, maybe next year. I also received Best In Category for my Dog Portrait and a “Judges Choice” award (for the same image) at the recent Professional Photographers Of Saskatchewan Convention (no, not Ontario, don’t ask). Next up is Nationals at the PPOC Convention in Banff this month. I will keep you posted on the results.

Best In Category PPOC-Saskatchewan “You know what they say about big ears eh?”
I was editing some files today getting prepped for an appointment with Franks Deli and I realized that I started working on image last year and I never finished it. It just need a few minor touches so I thought I would now post it.
Behind closed doors lies an internet world that not too many of us ever see. What world is that? The world of SERVERS. Luckily for me I don’t really have to do anything with them (even though we own a few) especially now that we have a hosting company that has excellent customer service (something that is hard to find these days). College Boreal on the otherhand have their own technicians to take care of everything that they have 99.9% uptime all the time.
