More dogs, and it isn’t even Dog Day.

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

Here are two images from our family session today (I will post some more of the family over the holidays) as I have already finished these two images  for my latest Smarticle at www.shootsmarter.com.  Lambo can do it all, from shake a paw to play dead.   We basically wore the poor pooch out and by the end of the session he was like “yaaaa, fetch it yourself.”

It’s Another World Down There

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

We are getting really excited for our diving trip to Belize next month.    Ever since I became a certified diver with SSI (www.divessi.com) I relish in the chance to dive in the Caribbean Ocean.   Once you submerge below the surface you are faced with another world and you forget about the world above.  It’s so peaceful and calm.  Every chance I get I try to capture something new with my underwater camera (Now it is my Canon G11 with underwater housing) and I know I will have loads of opportunity in Belize as it has the second largest reef in the world (the first is Australia’s Great Barrier Reef).

Family & Engagement Portraits In Sudbury

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

We had a fun filled busy day today.  Viewings,  Hanging new wall samples in the studio, Engagement portraits and family portraits.  We headed out to “Hurricane Acres” in Azilda where Chris’s friend Jean allowed us to use his property for the photos.  It’s always a blast to have new scenery to photograph in and this property was no exception.  Everywhere we walked  the two homestead cats would follow us around like dogs.  They were so friendly and playful.  We managed to hit up a bunch of different locations and we can’t wait to share more images with you all.  Thanks again Shannon & Chris, and thanks again Jean for letting us use your property.  We all look forward to the wedding day where we can take advantage of this spot again.

Later this evening we headed to Bell Park Sudbury to photograph the Lamothe family.  It was a little chilly, with red cheeks, runny noses (mine included) and 2 ducks to follow us around we got the Lamothe family to huddle together to keep each other warm.  The leaves are almost all on the ground now but you can still find some nooks that provide a great backdrop.   Guy, Paulette, Arielle & Ethan it was a pleasure photographing you all, the laughter your kids created was an added bonus to the session.

High Energy In The Class = Lightning

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

Well today we wrapped up the last day of Niagara School Of Imaging.  We started off the morning with a quick shoot of my friend Allen Rothwell.  We had this idea about 8 months ago when I saw his avatar on our NoBs Site with a motorcycle rider on a kiddy ride.  Well, we got Allen suited up in his riding gear (He’s a Ducati Rider) and headed off to the local kiddy park. :0  It didn’t take us long to get the shot as it was 32 degrees and I was hot, I could only imagine what the heck Allen’s suite smelled like after the shoot.  I want to thank my class again for an amazing week.  I always learn something when I teach, and I learned a lot this week, about myself  and teaching.  I’m in a good spot in my life and my class only enhanced it even more.  Thanks guys, can’t wait until next year.

Since I was somewhat in the neighborhood, I detoured some side roads and headed to Simcoe to visit my cousin.  Her and her husband just recently added a new addition to their family and I wanted the opportunity to photograph this new bundle of joy.  Christopher had no problem adjusting to this new goofy sweaty funny looking guy poking this big honkin camera lens in his face. I don’t know if he was staring at me because I was in his face or because he was subliminally trying to tell me to go away and take that big honkin camera lens with me hahaha, he was a pure joy to photograph.  In the end I captured this great image of my second cousin and I look forward to future shoots.

After the portrait session I headed  to Orangeville to  my good buddy Jose  Paulo’s ( www.imagesbypaulo.com) place to give him a hand with his blog.   As luck would have it, the nice sunny day turned into fabulous display of lighting and me being me I had to stop on the side of the highway to capture some of it.  Trudging through waist high grass to the top of a hill I managed to capture a few frames.

Now that I am here (at Joe’s Place) I quickly realized how drained I am from this week, so I am crashing on the couch, doing some laundry (my pants are wet) and will be back home to my lovely wife tomorrow morning.  I’m gone for the weekend, so I will see you all on Monday.

Home from Cuba

Monday, March 9th, 2009

Well we are back home now from our vacation/wedding in Cayo Coco Cuba. The weather was somewhat cooler but on the wedding day it was perfect. I’m posting this lone image for now, as I still have to go through everything. I will have ALOT more images this week, not only from the wedding, but from the trip as well. I’m just trying to get back into winter mode. :) Cuba Wedding Photographer
