JAMES HODGINS PHOTOGRAPHY

I don’t mean the “experience”  that the photographer has capturing images, I mean the experience that the photographers create on the wedding day for the bride & groom.   We just received this email from our wedding couple from 2 weekends ago.

We absolutely LOVE the photos and the “teaser pod” is so aptly named.  Everyone I showed them to got to the last picture and said “awww, I want to see more.”    I can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures because the 25 that we got last night are absolutely amazing.  I can’t believe that the pictures of me don’t show just how nervous I was. You guys made everything so easy for me and relieved a lot of my anxiety and everyone in the bridal party thought the two of you “made the day, and without them it could have been a really long day.” I’ve already warned Aaron that we will see a lot of you through the years to come.

Woke up this morning, grabbed a coffee, and read my first email.  WE LOVE getting emails like this.

Dear James and Joce,

As you know we are expecting our 2nd child at the end of May, I started to have some pre-nesting urges and decided to clean out the closet in the babies nursery.  In doing so I came across the furi album from the wedding, I had to take a moment to look through it.

I was so blown away by all the amazing images that were captured, I had to catch my breath at times because they were all just so beautiful.  I truly feel like the luckiest person, because I honestly feel like I have the most stunning wedding photos ever captured by another human being.  I personally think these wedding photos may have pushed you past being just a photographer and made you an almighty photo god.

I had to take the time to let you know again, how truly thankful I am for all the hard work you did to make my day the most memorable of days.  I couldn’t have put a price tag on the images you captured in Jamaica, nor can I express how much they mean to me.

I can not wait to see the family shots you will take when the new addition arrives.

Just received this great email from one of our destination wedding couples.
(She has been sitting on this for awhile )

“When we first got engaged we knew we wanted to do a destination wedding, and that we wanted amazing wedding photos to enjoy for years to come.  After looking on the websites for the resorts we quickly realized that photography was not their strong suit.

So the search was on to find a photographer that could capture our special day, and then some.  When we came across James Hodgins photography we were blown away by his creativity and editorial type style.  His attention to detail was like nothing we had seen before, and the way he used lighting and special effects was remarkable.

The first time we met with James and Jocelyne we knew we had made the right decision because we felt instantly comfortable around them.  You could tell they were very excited to shoot the wedding, and were very good at listening to what style we wanted.  They had a great balance between having a well operated business, and just having fun and genuinely enjoying their work.

With destination weddings there were a lot of other details we had to deal with, like traveling arrangements, hotels etc…  James and Jocelyne were always very understanding and patient and took the stress off of these situations, which was very helpful.   They were always so great at giving quick responses to any questions or concerns we may have had.

Once arriving in Jamaica, they never lost sight of why they were there.  They got to work right away scoping out different locations around the resort to set up photo shoots.  Together they were amazing at coming up with some outstanding ideas, but they were also very open to any suggestions we may have had also.

On the day of the wedding they were very organized and knew when and where they needed to be.  They made all our friends and family feel relaxed, and they assured all my “anti-photo” relatives that they would get the best shots ever and that they were doing great0 (which just made the day go by that much smoother.  Thanks for that James. )

During the ceremony James was amazing at capturing the moments without having to be right up in our faces.  Half the wedding party didn’t even realize that he was taking pictures, which made it so much more relaxed and natural. (That’s the sign of a true master)

After  the ceremony we were dealing with the elements, it would rain off and on, but they always knew how to make it work to their advantage, and get some of the best pictures because of it.  The whole time we were having fun, and they made it exciting and not like it was a chore. (which was always the response we got from other couples that got married)

There aren’t enough ways I can describe how amazing it was to work with James and Jocelyne, it’s was so natural and fun.  They definitely don’t have the “look at the camera, look at each other, now kiss” type of photography which is really great.  It was the best day of our lives and we totally have Hodgins photography to thank for adding to it in so many ways.

The images we received were like nothing we could have imagined and they speak for themselves.  If you have any doubt in your mind if you should invest in your photos… the answer is YES!!!! 100 million percent YES!!!”

No one person can walk into our home without unknowingly gravitate towards our portrait.  It’s not just the image, the layout or the details.  You can feel the emotions and the mood that me and Josee were feeling at that exact moment. “Hi Guys!

I remember this Sudbury Wedding.  We started the formals at the Anderson farm with overcast cloudy days.  When we finished up there the rain had started and so we headed off to find some covered spots around Sudbury’s downtown.  Of course we had umbrella’s, a backup plan, and our studio (which sometimes is a good thing when it rains) so we were covered for all situations.

Wow…what can I say….. I never shed a tear on my wedding day but I totally cried like a baby when watching the DVD and looking over the proofs with my beloved husband Don.

We clearly understand why you are both in such high demand as you both share such creativeness and ingenuity and have so much fun with all your images.

We really appreciate that you took the time to work around your hectic schedule and agreed to photograph our wedding day with such short notice.

The suggestion to take photo’s prior to the wedding ceremony was a terrific solution and the images reflected such adoration with the entire family.

Thank you so much to both of you for capturing our family unit (including Toby of course) with such fondness and consideration.

Don and I sat together yet again to review the DVD and the proofs with our family and the reaction is always the same one of ahhh and delight!!

We just simply wanted to thank you again for your outstanding wedding photos you created at our wedding this past June.  I wish that anyone looking for a photographer would have received the advice that we did when planning our wedding.  I was told to “Give the utmost attention when booking your photographer. Most everything else you slave over making perfect that day goes away after the wedding.  Your photos are something you will have to cherish the rest of your life….”

You not only gave us something to cherish proudly.  You made the entire process enjoyable (not stressful!)  Jocelyne was fantastic to deal with.  Every question, phonecall, etc was dealt with promptly, and sincerely. James, your enthusiasm for photography is contagious on your wedding day!  It was a blast taking photos!!  You had a way of reading our personalities that day, that was captured perfectly in all our photos.  It was amazing! We would walk around the city and you would say “Ah ha! This looks cool here.” visualising photos that not any eye can see. So unique, and the attention to detail was amazing. You wouldn’t settle for anything but perfect when getting our photos processed either.  We appreciate that.  The compliments we received were unbelievable!!  I could go on and on about how you both made the entire process fun, and enjoyable, and how pleased we are.
