Wake up, shower, shoot!
Sunday, March 22nd, 2009Pretty well in that order too. It’s 9:35 am, we have a bunch of models showing up for a shoot, but I thought I would take a quick windowlight portrait of Guy’s daughter Joelle (who is also an excellent photographer). This was taken in the living room with window light and a reflector. Stay tuned today, we will have many more images from today.

Old Images New Images
Thursday, March 12th, 2009I was digging through my archives today and came across this image I took of Sandra. I thought I would workflow this differently this time and this is what I came up with. It’s great to go back into the archives and apply new techniques to old images. You can come up so many different variations for 1 image.

Professional Photographers Of Ontario – Our Branch
Monday, February 2nd, 2009I would like to personally congratulate my friend Michael of Michael Blinn Photography who recently took 3rd place at our PPO Branch seminar yesterday. He was up on some stiff competition as there were MANY print entries at this event. Michael scored 1 merit (which took 3rd place, and 3 accepted prints). Rob Corrado of Corrvision (another fellow photographer whom I have shared the speaker roster with at Niagara School Of Imaging, he is also coming back for the 2009 season) put on a great seminar on commercial photographer with 2 live portrait sessions. Myself, Rob Provencher, Tony Galic, Erik Lovin & Mike Dupont were the judges for this great seminar and we were all glad to see a great turn-out. Congratulations again Mickey!!!

Hodgins Photography 2009 Has Started
Monday, January 5th, 2009It’s Monday, and tomorrow we official kick off the business season of 2009. Looking back on the last year has been a real joy. Wow, did we do alot in the last 12 months. A new website, more commercial clients, many many kickass weddings, and a wackload of travelin. I’m looking forward to pushing on and making 2009 the best yet so hold on to your trousers. This week I am sending out 7 16×20 prints to be entered in the WPPI (Wedding Portrat Photographers International) print competition this Febuary in Las Vegas. This will be the 4th time going to WPPI and the second time entering (last time I took 3rd place commercial and 3 Accolades of Excellence). I am also a featured vendor in the tradeshow with my co-founded business www.nobsphotosuccess.com. Although I’m not a big fan of Las Vegas I am a big fan of hanging out with a great group of photographers and creating some dynamic images in new found locations. Anyways, here are the prints I am entering.

“Lollipop Girl”

Lookin fine in 2009
Monday, December 29th, 2008We want to wish you all a fabulous 2009
We have added a new email subscription (look in the right side-bar) so that you can be emailed daily with any new posts to the hodgeblog. We did have another formate, but we found it very unstable. Feedblitz is alot more simplified and streamlined. No more tinkle bells, just a straight email that shows you our new posts.
Hodgeblog Flashback
