Family Investment

Friday, October 16th, 2009

The Pappano family just picked up their Canvas Cluster from their family session.  This consisted of a 20×30, 16×20 and 11×14′s.  Wall portraits like these are designed to fill a large wall or area.  It may seem like a lot, but why not invest in YOUR family?  How often do you get family portraits done?  When was the last time you had your family portrait done?  Investments like this you just can’t go wrong as you will cherish these wall portraits for a very very long time.

Speaking of Wall Portraits, we have updated our wall in our studio with new wall portraits and products.  Come on in and check out what’s new.

My boss Is Gorgeous!!!

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

And yes I am biased.   In between sessions today I decided to try out my new 24-105 lens.  It helps when you have a hot, goodlooking, gorgeous, outstanding, love of your life subject to photograph.  Yes, Joce does read the blog. :)

A Mothers Love

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

I just finished prepping images from this session and I wanted to post another image of Sarah and Reese. I love to see the interaction between our clients and their children, there is just something so unconditional about it.

This little girl did not pee on my couch.

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

Unlike me niece Piper. :)   Yesterday we had the beautiful Reese come into our studio with mom and dad.  She was just full of smiles and you just couldn’t go wrong with those  big brown eyes like hers.    She was a doll to photograph and she seemed pretty comfortable in front of the camera.  She was so interested in what was going on around us but her eyes would always lock onto mom or dad’s face.     Thanks again Sarah & Derek.  It was a pleasure photographing the two of you and your beautiful daughter.

She flipped me off twice and peed on my couch!

Monday, August 10th, 2009

Sometimes our clients just don’t love us and they don’t hold back letting us know.  Piper was no exception, she just just didn’t want to be in the studio, nor did she want me to take her photo.  It was her first time in the studio so it did take a bit of getting used to, but after I worked my charm on her (just like I did with Joce haha) I won her over and she posed like the little princess she is.    It was all a ruse.  She made me think I was in the free and clear as we put her on the couch and I immediately knew we fell into her trap.   In the end I had the last laugh as the studio couch was  Scotch Guarded a long time ago bwahahahaha and when Piper get’s older Uncle James will bring forth these images and this story to the first boyfriend she brings by to meet us. :)

Sudbury Miner And His Dog.

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

“Spencer” has to be  in the running for Sudbury’s Smallest Dog.  We just finished this shoot about an hr ago and I had to post it right away.  You just couldn’t take a bad image of this dog.   By the time he got to the studio is was tuckered right out, so it was really easy “pose” him.

I’m now a card carrying member of PPA

Thursday, June 4th, 2009

That’s the Professional Photographers Of America.    Why you might ask?  I mean, I am a Canadian and a member of Professional Photographers of Canada, isn’t that enough?  Well no it isn’t.   I’m always looking for other seminars & conventions I can attend to further my photography education, and since I am also speaking (and have spoken) at many US seminars and conventions, I might as well get the merits to put towards my Masters in PPA (I already have my Masters from PPOC).  In a recent post on our photography forum that linked to another photography blog, one was asked “how do I ‘make it’ as a photographer?”

This was his answer (one agree with 100%)

2.  Be Undeniably Good

1.  Dedicate at least 10,000 hours to whatever it is you’re looking to master.

Well, I”m working on my 10,000 hours.  I don’t know how many hours I have put in, but I have put in  many hours over the last 11 years.  I’m not even close to being a “Master” in my opinion, but I am always going to further my education in this art.

Pick a colour, any colour.

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

Fern just finished his updated business portrait for his Sudbury Real Estate site www.ferncormier.ca  Consulting beforehand we knew he was wearing a blue shirt and jacket, so out came one of our blue backgrounds.  We always like to match up the background color with the clothing.  This makes for a well rounded studio business portrait.  Although, we can also change the background and clothing color to anything we pretty well please as you can see below.   Not only did Fern get a great Portrait, he also discovered that Earth tones look good on him as well.

Yesterdays bride is now tomorrow’s mother.

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

Shari and Louis came in today for their “family” session.  Although the little one is not born yet, they
thought they would get an early start.  We just photographed their wedding last October
( view the slideshow)  and now we are photographing their first born, and soonafter that their
family portrait.  I love to see how the cycle of life unfolds with our photography and our clients.
