JAMES HODGINS PHOTOGRAPHY

I just finished capturing images of the new restaurant “Curious Thyme,s Bistro” located in the Travelway Inn off of Paris St.  This establishment has it all, great breakfast, lunch & supper, colorful cocktails and a huge variety of exotic teas.  My mouth was drooling for most of the day while Maurissa,  Creative Odyssey and myself were putting together the different shots and backgrounds.  This restaurant is a great addition to the Sudbury Scene.  Here are just a few images from today, stay tuned for more from Creative Odyssey and Curious Thyme’s Bistro.

Well, I’m on my way to see Cliff Mautner’s presentation so I don’t have time right now to post some images from yesterdays Sassifras Session.  I will get a bunch together and post the gallery here from that in a few days.  Instead, here’s a “beach portrait” I took in Cuba of 2 of my friends.  I know you cannot see her face because the wind is blowing her hair but I like that part.  I was looking for something a little more edgy and “fashion” look to it and I think we got it.

Well, we JUST finished with our inpromptu “In The House” photoshoot on our day off from the PPO Convention.  We had a blast, used every inch of this house, and IMO came up with some pretty kick*ss images.  More to come.

Pretty well in that order too.  It’s 9:35 am, we have a bunch of models showing up for a shoot, but I thought I would take a quick windowlight portrait of Guy’s daughter Joelle (who is also an excellent photographer).  This was taken in the living room with window light and a reflector.  Stay tuned today, we will have many more images from today.

Well, it’s 10:30 Saturday night and we all had to leave the seminar because we were too tired.  But you know?  When you put a bunch of photographers in one house, sleep deprived, and add in 1 beer and 2 tylenol, things happen.  Weird things.  This is my lovely “liquified” portrait that my good friend Julie of www.martinphotography.ca took of me.  I think I will use this for my speaker bio pic for 2009.  What do you think?    Mom, do you like this better than the mental hospital photo?  Love you.  10:32, I have to add this now.  My cousin John is crying because I did not give him photo credit of the lovely portrait of myself and my beautiful wife Joce (the one on the right).  There John, you happy?  Stop yer crying.

I’m outta here again!  Off to Ottawa for our annual Professional Photographers Of Ontario Convention.  I also have a shoot lined up with some other photographers and models and hopefully I will have some images to show you in a few days.  See you next week. Chowbella!!

As Joce and I were getting ready for the previous posts engagement session, friends of ours walked by with their daughter.  She is soooo cute, and she was playing shy and clinging to dad’s legs.  I quickly grabbed my camera,  knelt down and snapped of 3 quick images.  After a quick workflow and dropping in a textured overlay I came up with this image.   I hope I can capture more images of this little one this coming summer.  Oh, and mom and dad too  of course.

August 16th – 20th  is Niagara School Of Imaging week at Brock University in St. Catherines.  Read all about it here http://niagaraschool.com/  I will instructing a course on Weddings, On Location Portraits, Off Camera Flash techniques and much much more.  We had a BLAST last year and created some outstanding images.  If your thinking of coming, contact Rick or Ian soon as I know seats are filling up fast for this event.

We just finished Melissa & Eric’s engagement session not 1 hr ago.  They are our first wedding (In Canada) for 2009 and we are very excited.  Half of their bridal party attended other weddings that Joce and I have documented, so it will be one big wedding day reunion.  I’ll post more images from their session later when I finish going through them all.

Kelly and Andrew are getting married in 2 months so we headed out yesterday to capture some images.   We can’t wait for the weather to warm up and the streets to be cleaned. We are also getting excited and looking forward to all our weddings in 2009, annnnnnd the many couples who have already booked for 2010.
