It’s back to work this week (well depends if it’s too cold to go out fishing or not) and we are gearing up for another great year. Revamping the studio, revamping our packages and revamping our clientele. Here is another one of Brittany. She will be coming in this week to choose her images so I will have more to show. I couldn’t help myself from posting another one. : ) This is with my homemade kitchen light from Home Depot.
You probably won’t find this present under your Christmas tree but we did find her in our studio today Rocking this photography session! It was so hard to pick just one image to blog since we captured loads of images today. Brittany was a natural in front of the camera (as you can see) and I can’t wait to go through the rest of the session and start sharing more images with you all.
Melina came into our studio today so that we could capture her new look. What look is that? We like to call it “Hotness”. She’s worked hard, put in the time, and now it’s time to reap the benefits. This is just one quick sneak peak at what we created for Melina, of course all the work was done by her, I just captured what was there. Beauty.

Today Tina Weltz (www.callastudio.ca) and I did a quick 2 hr crapshoot in the outskirts of Elmira Ontario. This consisted of walking down trails that lead us to the wrong location, squirrel poop that was bigger than my cat, dirt roads leading to nowhere that were busier than the 401, and evil Burr infested forests with a peeping Mennonite. I’m tired now as it’s 12:22 am and need sleep, but I thought I would share with you 2 images from today. I would post more, but I am just too tired so you will have to wait. I have a full day seminar to present tomorrow so that will take up some time, but do not cry, I will post more in days to come. Cheers & enjoy.
Well we had another rockin day yesterday. We took the beautiful actress Melissa downtown St. Catherines so we could find more Heaven in the oddest places. We started off using the outside of the textile warehouse we used the day before with Dana. Luckily the security guard was there again so we headed back inside, but this time we used the other side of the building. I set up my flashes for some off camera flash, and gave each of my students only two shots. The first one was to see if they did it correctly and to make any adjustments and the second shot they had to make count. They seemed to have a lot fun with this assignment. We then went outside and found a cool graffiti alley way where we finished off the day. Thanks again to my class for a great week. I had a blast, and the enthusiasm they showed really brought a high energy to the class. Thanks again Melissa for taking the time to come out and be my model for the day. I had a great time photographing you and getting to know you in the short time we had. Hopefully I get the chance to photograph you again. There is always next year at NSI.
We had another great day jam packed with live sessions, presentations and of course some great learning. I started off the morning with my presentation on Off Camera Flash (Which we did the day before), and then we hit the studio for some studio portraits. The gorgeous actress Melissa McIntyre from Degrassi: The Next Generation & “Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye” was nice enough to come in and model for my class. We captured some great portraits off her in a very short time explaining all the basics of studio lighting. After lunch we then hit the downtown core of St.Catherines with my class and fellow NoBs’r and photographer Charles Vandersluys to see if we could find new locations to shoot in. We were looking for a little piece of heaven in some not so heavenly places and it is exactly what we found. We a great subject to photograph with a few different styles of outfits.
Today I am presenting my presentation Branding and Promotions and then this afternoon Melissa is coming back for another session downtown in a really cool black dress. If we have time this evening I then doing another on location shoot with my friend Allen Rothwell.
Meghann is in town this weekend from Thunder Bay. She is competing in the Sudbury Northern Ontario Bodybuilding Trounament tomorrow at the frazer auditorium, but before that she wanted some images for portfolio. So off we went around Sudbury finding cool locations to photograph. We had alot of fun with this session, it was sunny, it rainded, and Ramsey lake is COLD!! Good luck tomorrow Meghann and to all the other athletes. I know Troy Thompson of www.trainedbytroy.com has alot of atheletes competing this weekend so Troy, good luck to you too.
Gary came into the studio yesterday for a new headshot. Actually “A” headshot since he has never had one before. We had a great time and came up with a headshot along with a few other images he wanted to have for his new portfolio. He’s of to Toronto tomorrow as he as 4 interviews with talent agencies. This guy works fast.
