Ottawa-Quebec Photography Workshop

Well we are home now from Ottawa-Quebec after presenting a full day seminar to the PPO Ottawa Branch. It was a long day (9 am to 8 pm) but we all survived and the response was great. My presentation consisted of using your blog and website for marketing your photography, publicity in your community, Off Camera Flash Techniques and the low down of our Wedding Photography. I would like to put a big shout out to Jean Chartrand for organizing this event, I would also like to thank our great friends Julie and Guy for their awesome hospitality at their house and cottage, Craig Minielly for just being him, a big thanks to Roy of Frost Imaging www.nexgenlab.com for being my #1 Sponsor, and finally to all those photographers who attended, thank you.

Hi James,

I attended your workshop yesterday and really got a lot out of it. I can’t wait to start using some of your ideas to help my own business grow. I’m also quite jealous you got a free sailing trip in the BVIs – my husband and I chartered a catamaran there in 2007 and I’m kicking myself for not having thought of something similar since I too have an underwater housing for my P&S and managed to get some cool shots. I think I have almost the exact same photo of the wreck of the Rhone. Great dive! Anyway, I’m now full of ideas and will not let another opportunity for free publicity (or a free trip!) go by. Oh, and I must re-work my website and blog…

Thanks again and have a safe trip back to the big nickel (my hometown too – looks like it breeds some great photographers!)
